Dr. Kimani Karangu is a non-invited visitor, he is honoured to be learning and unlearning on the ancestral and unceded lands of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam). A former teacher from Kenya, Kimani came to UBC for his MA and PhD studies at the Faculty of Education with special attention to Curriculum Studies. A curriculum theorist, his dissertation explores Narrative of Non-refugee teachers teaching in long-term refugee camps in Kenya through Utu/Ubuntu philosophy – I am because you are and you are because I am! 

He is a postdoctoral fellow position in All Our Chemicals Relations, developing educational materials guided by Indigenous knowledge and expertise, and analyzing focus group data from the Learning in the Government spiral.
