Michelle Huang is a fourth year Chemical Physics student studying at UBC-V, on traditional, ancestral, and unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) land. She is originally from Richmond Hill, Ontario, situated on Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Mississauga and Chippewa Nations of the Williams Treaty. Michelle is currently working as a part-time research assistant in the Egesta lab. She is interested in the intersection and weaving of Indigenous ways of knowing and Western science. Her current project looks at how scholars in literature discuss and discuss Indigenous knowledge in the contexts of Western science. Outside the lab, Michelle enjoys reading, crafts and playing and developing video games!
